They offer superb walking amongst jagged snow-capped peaks, with Mt. Triglav the highest point at 9395 feet. Below the peaks are fertile valleys, with underground rivers, high cliffs and narrow steep gorges, fed by dramatic waterfalls, the results of the limestone rock structure. The towns and villages are very pretty, with many old buildings, decorated by colorful window boxes. The valleys are full of meadows, orchards and vegetable gardens, with an amazing display of wildflowers, particularly in early summer. Your twin centres of Kranjska Gora and Lake Bohinj offer many possibilities for superb mountain walking at all levels of ability, as well as all the facilities you need. You will stay in high quality family run hotels giving the excellent accommodation, food and service you expect from a Grassroutes holiday.

HOLIDAY INFORMATION

THE WALKING PROGRAMME

The cables and lifts will carry you to rolling alpine meadow areas, for easier mountain walking.
