Transfer by coach, passenger van or private car to your London hotel, where you stay for 2 nights. In the afternoon, visit on foot some of London s great parks, including St. James s Park, Green Park and Hyde Park.</p> <br/> <h1>DAY 2</h1><p> Visit to Kew Gardens. In the afternoon enjoy Eltham Palace Gardens, a stunning moated garden at the boyhood home of King Henry VIII or the Chelsea Physic Garden, dating back to 1673 and lying in 3.8 acres of walled gardens, on the banks of the Thames in fashionable Chelsea.</p> <br/> <h1>DAY 3</h1><p> Join your tour coach or pick up rental car and depart London for Kent. Stay 1 night in Kent. Visit Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, one of Britain s greatest. The creation of Vita Sackville West it has been described as  a exquisitely beautiful garden . Your second garden today is Hever Castle, a thirteenth century romantic castle - once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. Set in magnificent gardens. from the majestic formal Italian Garden and topiary, to the lakeside, Sunday Walk, the Water Maze and a Yew Maze. Other fine Kentish Gardens can be found at Penshurst Place, featuring a 10 acre walled garden, Port Lympne. </p> <br/> <h1>DAY 4</h1><p> Drive from Kent in to Sussex and stay for one night. En route visit Christopher Lloyd s beautiful garden at Great Dixter, with its famous Long Border andLeonardslee. Set along a valley with seven lakes, it is most famous for its rhododendrons and azaleas but equally beautiful in the Fall when the colours are heart stopping. Other great gardens in the area include Sheffield Park Garden & Nymans with spectacular trees, shrubs and hedges.</p><br/> <h1>DAY 5</h1> <p> Continue west in to Wiltshire. En route you will visit the great gardens at Exbury House in Hampshire, a superb, mature woodland garden on the banks of the Beaulieu River and the Solent, again famous for its strains of azaleas. Other possibilities include The Manor House at Upton Grey, one of Gertrude Jekyll s best creations & finally visit Stourhead, probably the most famous and visited landscape Garden in England. Stay 1 night.</p><br/> <h1>DAY 6</h1><p> Wiltshire to Cornwall, with an en route visit to Montacute House, a lovely blend of Elizabethan mansion and landscaped gardens and Bicton Park Gardens with a delightful Italian Garden and one of the most beautiful surviving Palm Houses. Another gem is Mount Edgcumbe, with its spectacular location on cliffs overlooking the sea and Plymouth. Sound. Stay 2 nights in Cornwall.</p><br/> <h1>DAY 7</h1> <p> Exploring more of Cornwall s famous gardens, including the unique Eden Project, the delightful Lost Gardens of Heligan. The Eden Project features three huge bio-spheres, each exhibiting a different eco-climate. Heligan, once one of the finest gardens in the country became the victim of neglect and for many years was  lost . In 1990 they were re-discovered and have now been restored to much of their former glory. There are several gardens within the site including the dramatically beautiful Valley Garden, a Melon Garden, Pineapple Pit, a Vegetable Garden and a walled Flower Garden. Another option, time permitting is and Trebah Gardens. Trebah occupies a wonderful site, built along a 600 metre long combe (narrow valley), descending steeply towards the Helford River.</p> <br/> <h1>DAY 8</h1> <p> Today you head back east and stay overnight in or near Bath. En route visit Hestercombe House in Somerset, one of the earliest and finest collaborations between Gertrude Jekyll and Sir Edward Lutyens. </p> <br/> <h1>DAY 9</h1> <p> Continue towards London and stay one night in Windsor. Visit Painshill Park in Surrey, another magnificent garden which virtually disappeared but now thankfully being restored. It is a mix of exotic planting, a lake with island and extraordinary labyrinthinegrotto and many architectural gems. Time permitting another not to be missed experience are the Royal Horticultural Society s Gardens at Wisley.
